The King of Arms Art Ball II presented by Artist Rashaad Newsome, XEX Magazine & Summer On The Hudson in conjunction with NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, will bring together a judges panel of legends and Icons from the Art, Entertainment, Fashion, Literary and Vogue world to deliberate over who will be the next Statements, Legends and Icons. This year Newsome is taking the culture back to the pier and turning the entire pier into a runway where competitors will battle it out for cash prizes and the title of the next King or Queen of Arms. The evening will consists of categories that span Art History from the Renaissance to Contemporary Art. The event will be hosted by Ousmane Wiles and Dashaun Wesley, DJ Michael Cox on the wheels of steel and commentator extraordinary Kevin Jz Prodigy on the mic.

Upcoming Events:
On September 6th, 2014, the Killer Heels: The art of the High-Heeled Shoe opens with a live performance featuring Rashaad Newsome,Kevin JzProdigy, Cakes da Killa and a slew of Statements, Legend and Icons from the New York City Ballroom Scene at the Brooklyn Museum. And in the show, is a video work in collaboration with Christian Louboutin.
Later that month, Newsome would be performing Shade Compositions live at the Orpheum theater in Graz, Austria as part this years’s Steirischer Herbst Festival. He would later have a solo exhibition to in December with Marlborough Gallery, New York.
