You can be seen co-starring as Erica on TV Land’s new series “Lopez.” Tell us a bit about your character.
Erica is George’s 16 year old daughter. She is in high school and like many 16 year olds, she is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants. She is a very fun explorative character because we see this in the various types of friends she comes home with and how she’s kind of all over the place trying new things and flip flopping on opinions based on her mood.

What is it like having George Lopez as your on screen dad?
Having George as an on screen dad is so much fun! He’s so animated and is a creative actor to work with, it’s amazing. Being on set is always a good time.

We hear you are a bit of a daredevil, what are some of your favorite things to do off screen?
Some of my favorite hobbies are horseback riding and motorcycle riding. I’ve been doing it for years and it really clears my mind when I’m feeling stressed! I also love my dog and working out so I love to hit the gym and run and cuddle with my dog,

What has been your most humbling moment?
My most humbling moments have been when I got the phone call that I booked the role because I knew my life was about to change, and recently moving to a nice community after my hard work showing that it has paid off.

You just joined the 2nd season of the Netflix series “Marco Polo” which launches on July 1st.  Tell us about your character.

I play the role of Orus, who is a fierce and loyal warrior intent on bringing long-held traditions back to the people of Mongolia. I can’t say much beyond that, but as far as this second season goes, I will say that it’s going to be epic and I can’t wait for audiences to watch.

“Marco Polo” films in Hungary, Slovakia & Malaysia. What was the experience like filming abroad?

Amazing. On a very human level, to be able to travel to different countries and experience very different cultures, all while doing what you love, that is such a blessing.  As far as the experience of acting, I can’t emphasize enough how helpful it was to be on location. Because you’re in this sort of bubble with the production, you form these incredible bonds with people, whether its cast-mates, the stunt team, people in the costume department, makeup department, etc. And that’s really quite important, having the trust of one another, especially on a show that’s so big and runs for so long.  Also, the locations we shot at and the sets the production built, they were nothing short of astonishing. I remember my first day of filming, we were in Hungary, out in the middle of nowhere far from civilization. To get to set, I had to walk through a clearing, and as I came out into the open, my jaw just hit the floor. They had built an entire ger village and there were giant statues, dozens of horses, dozens of camels, chickens, goats, hundreds of Mongolian extras (who came from Mongolia!) to play villagers. I mean, they had literally built a village. None of it was green screen. All of it was real and practical. As an actor, to be able to perform in such a fashion where everything is so tangible, so completely at your fingertips, it’s such a gift. As John Fusco, the creator of Marc Polo would state, “We’re not just making Marco Polo, we’re living it.”

Already an avid martial artist in Tang Soo Do & Southern style Kung Fu, what was it like training with the Hitz International stunt team?

Training with the stunt coordinator, Brett Chan, and his incomparable Hitz International Stunt Team was such an instrumental part to helping me shape the character of Orus. On a show like this, basically if you’re not filming, you’re with the stunt team working on one thing or another.  Since I had to put on a lot of mass, a good deal of my days were spent eating thousands of calories and doing a lot of intense lifting. And despite the fact that I had a background in Kung Fu, I was learning all sorts of new styles that I had never dabbled in such as Wrestling, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu. It was fun and grueling at the same time, and I was very fortunate to have such amazing athletes holding my hand along the way and teaching me the ropes.

What is your favorite thing to do during your down time while away from filming?

I love to draw and paint. One of my good friends from Marco Polo gifted me this great little travel art book that I’ve been doodling in. If I’m not doing that, I love animals, so you can probably find me volunteering at the local animal shelter.

What can our readers expect from you in the next year?

I enjoy working behind the camera as much as I love acting, so I’m currently writing and producing some projects that will hopefully see the light of day soon.

You can be seen starring opposite Ice Cube in Warner Bros’ Barber Shop: The Next Cut . Tell us a bit about your character.

My character is a good kid, but a little curious like most teenagers are. He wants to fit in and I guess he wants to be cool.

What is it like having Ice Cube as your on screen dad?

Ice Cube is cool. It was just nice working with him because I am a big fan of his other movies that I’ve watched over and over so to get a chance to work with him was just awesome

You are also been seen on StarZ hit series “POWER” in the role of ‘Tariq St. Patrick. What can we expect from the upcoming season?

You can expect to see Tariq the entire season, I’m so excited. My character is developing, Tariq is getting older and like any other kid is concerned about his parent’s relationship. All I can say is, watch season 3. The writers really did their thing.

What has been your most humbling moment?

this is a hard question, I had to think a little. I don’t like seeing homeless people or kids in need. I’m glad my Mom helps people and gets me involved,  I just want to help, and I do.

What can our readers expect from you in the next year?

Big things are in the works! I will start working on a new movie called Amateur in June which I play lead in that will be out in 2017.
