Fuse is heading into the scripted realm with “The Hustle,” a half-hour dramedy that takes you inside the world of up-and-coming rap act Brooklyn’s Finest, “D” and Kutta. Their team consists of their one-man entourage, Rashad, who keeps the boys honest and their childhood friend turned label exec, Ya-Ya (Erica Dickerson), who grinds to get them their first record deal. Viewers can also expect cameos from well-known rap stars, including rappers Jadakiss, Freddie Gibbs, Red Cafe, Travis Porter and Nipsey Hussle, along with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, DJ Whoo Kid and DJ Skee.
“The Hustle” is created and exec produced by Prentice Penny (“Happy Endings,” “Scrubs”) and produced by Generate. Millicent Shelton, Rusty Cundieff and Billie Woodruff helm the episodes.
XEX was thrilled to work with Erica Dickerson on her 1st magazine shoot as she is hitting the promotional trail for the show. Attached are a few previews from the shoot, photographed by Dallas J Logan styled in amazing True Religion denim, Dita Eyewear and a few other cool fashions! Full article and interview will be in our upcoming “Rebel Issue” out August.
