Harlem-born Azealia Banks performed an intimate sold out show at Irving Plaza on Monday, May 11, 2015 in support of her critically praised album, Broke with Expensive Taste. The lights went out and hundreds of people started chanting “Azealia” until she finally hit the stage and blew everyone away. Her loyal fan base sang and vogued to every song and neither theirs nor Azealia’s energy let up throughout the show. During “Miss Amor,” Banks had stopped in the middle of the performance to break up a fight between fans. “You better stop fighting or I’m kicking you the fuck out” screamed Banks. After the individuals got embarrassed the beat dropped and the show continued, “Luxury” and “Miss Amor” turning the focus back on Banks. She came out for an encore and closed with fan favorite, “212.” It was not a performance to be missed.
